"I don't care - just stop demanding that others should make sacrifices to support it." If you have space for 400 cars (illustrative figure). But only utilise 300 spaces. Then returning 30 or 40 spaces to a "free" area has absolutely no negative impact on Harvard road at all. There is zero sacrifice - stop being a martyr. Especially as those spaces would not be outside ANY one's house, as they would be on the outer west and south side where there are no houses. You come across like a greedy child with a bowl of sweets that has gourged himself and can't eat any more, but won't share his sweets with anyone else just because "they are mine". "There would be so much confusion about which side of the road to park on, that tickets galore would get issued." This is standard throughout chiswick and the rest of london. It is very common for one side to be residents only and the other side to allow pay and display, bikes only, disabled etc. "Your area, your problem - do not try and export it." Councillor's made it very clear it's "our" area, all of us. For instance if they considered that Elmwood Road really had a problem, that would be alleviated by CPZ, it would be expected that other neighbouring roads share that burdon by becomming CPZ too. Councillor's where very explicit on collective responsibilty and sharing. |
