I am not too sure why you keep going on about Grove Park trying to 'export' its problems to you. The only reason why roads like Elmwood Road have a problem is because YOUR problem was exported to Grove Park!! It doesn't seem unreasonable to suggest that SOME of your EMPTY streets are used to help redress the balance a bit. Rather than just opposing a scheme that most of us don’t want, we are actively seeking a way of solving the problem that a few streets in Grove Park do have. What we are asking for is that the council look at ways of distributing more fairly the burden caused by people who need to park in the area, and to have empty streets when your neighbours can’t even park in the street where they live seems a bit of a nonsense to me. For the record I don’t currently have much of a parking problem in my bit of the road, but it will be included in the CPZ. Apart from the cost, and the inconvenience for visitors (not to meniton my loathing of unnecessary bureaucracy), I will be able to park either way, but I am concerned about the knock on effect for neighbouring streets and also those who work or use the amenities in the area, and who will be affected badly by a CPZ. As I have said before, "I'm alright Jack" doesn't work for us, so rather than just block the CPZ, or sit back and let it happen - blighting yet another set of streets on the edge of the CPZ, we are trying to look at alternative solutions that will work for all of Chiswick... including those who work in the area. |
