I found that very interesting, Adam; and if what you say is true (and I’m sure it is) then it’s quite an appalling situation. Practically every street you look in nowadays has plenty of cars, because people need them, but they’re always being told by the authorities that they don’t! Is everybody wrong then?! And these same residents will typically use public transport too, when that suits their needs; but buses won’t even allow a tin of paint on board. It’s the authorities that are wrong, allowing properties to be built without parking facilities due to their ‘control freak’ attitude and making ‘unfounded assumptions’ that everyone’s going to be sharing and hiring cars! Wasn’t it Thatcher who said: “You can’t buck the market”? Well she got that right, and I bet these same idiots voted for her! |
