| Colin - this petition is rival to a petition that says Harvard Road should become CPZ free. That petition has been started by Grove Parkers, not by residents of Harvard Road. Many residents in Harvard Road and the surrounding area want to keep the existing CPZ. Grove Parkers want to tear it up. Grove Parkers should have no authority to decide what happens to other areas of Chiswick just as the rest of Chiswick should not decide what happens in Grove Park. If Grove parkers are determined to change the parking in an area in which they do not live, then everybody else should have a say on a CPZ in Grove Park. The petition is at http://petitions.hounslow.gov.uk/keepthecpz/ Let me stress once again that this petition is making no case - either for or against - a Grove Park CPZ. It is suggesting that Grove Parkers sort out their own issues rather than trying to create problems for other parts of Chiswick. Hope that clears things up!! |
