The problem the council has in trying to resolve a problem for the minority is possibly unresolvable; or at least they’ve showed us nothing so far that will resolve the problems without making things worse (including many they’re supposed to be helping) for a much larger number of residents. They bang on and on (..& on & on & on) about a scheme that may benefit 11% of people, and practically refuse to discuss the problems that the scheme is likely to cause the remaining 89% of people. Why sympathy for 11% and not 89%? I agree with the councillors that a majority ‘vote’ alone isn’t the only factor that should be taken into consideration. But until they can present a scheme that can be seen by residents to be well thought out and as fair as reasonably possible, they’re either barking mad to persist at any level with these proposals, or they’re not telling us what the real reasons are for wanting to implement this scheme. |
