I was just looking at the following figures quoted in an earlier thread: “EASTBOURNE ROAD 20 properties (map shows 22?) YES to CPZ 6 - NO to CPZ 2 (total response 8 homes) ALL properties have dropped kerb access apart from 4 properties (nos. 9-10-16-18). MILNTHORPE ROAD 22 properties YES to CPZ 7 - NO to CPZ 3 (total response 10 homes) ALL properties have dropped kerb access apart from 1 property (no. 12). CHESTERFIELD ROAD 43 properties YES to CPZ 14 - NO to CPZ 3 (total response 17 homes) ALL properties have dropped kerb access apart from 3 properties (nos. 15-19-25) and possibly the flats 27 to 37 and houses 39-41-43 but it seems some rear access is available to these from Sutton Court Rd. Note: Properties 6-8-10-12 rear access from Milnthorpe; 14-16-18-10-22-24-26-28 rear access from Eastbourne; 13 side access from Chatsworth - all these access points are dropped kerbs. CHATSWORTH ROAD (incl Chatsworth Close 4 properties) 33 properties incl. C.Close (LBH Consultation results says 31 properties) YES to CPZ 7 - NO to CPZ 4 (total response 11 homes) ALL properties have dropped kerb access apart from 4 properties (nos.10-12-14-17). PARK ROAD 165 properties YES to CPZ 58 - NO to CPZ 14 (total response 72 homes) ALL properties have dropped kerb access apart from 17 properties (nos. 46-48-50-68-70-72-98-136-138-140-then 142-144 and 146-148 (these seem to have shared driveways but no dropped kerb on the LBH plan) - 51-55-77). ELMWOOD ROAD 58 properties YES to CPZ 30 - NO to CPZ 3 (total response 33 homes) ONLY 3 properties have dropped kerb access, 50 properties do not have dropped kerbs.” That is: Chesterfield Road – 17 out of 44 homes responsed = 38% Chatsworth Road - 11 out of 33 = 33% Milnthorpe Road – 10 out of 22 (getting closer to 50%) Eastbourne Road – 8 out of 20 Even Park Road doesn’t make 50% response No idea where that is supposed to tie up with 57% but what I was really saying was that there are parts of roads like Chesterfield Road and Chatsworth where there really is no problem at all and perhaps people in those sections didn’t bother to respond, because the response rates in these streets in particular is no where near 57%. Or are the no’s, as someone suggested, only no if you said that you had a parking problem… so actually what the figures are leaving out is all the other people who don’t think that there is a problem, therefore don’t, by definition want a CPZ, but the council has cleverly ignored to skew the figures to look like more are in favour than against. Because clearly if you say you don’t have a parking problem that is NOT the same as saying that you don’t want a CPZ !?!?!?!? I give up! |
