Paul Lynch mentions parkforfree.com. Can anyone point us towards a functioning internet site directing such parkers our way? I cannot find one. Perhaps it's another urban myth. I'd say there is some opportunistic parking by holidaymakers and commuters, but not enough to warrant a CPZ in East Grove Park. There are assertions of a major problem. But these assertions are unsupported either by empirical evidence or by any understanding of who is parking in our streets and why (My view is that we have, mostly, created our own problems). In the proposed eastern cluster one road, Elmwood, may or may not have a problem - but the evidence for that is ambiguous. It has less of a problem during the day than my own street, close by, which is outside the proposed zone. Surely it can't be that hard to go out for LBH to gather proper traffic survey evidence to settle the case one way or another. I could live with a CPZ based on evidence. But let's not have one based on an urban myth. |
