In Park Rd 7 Feb 3pm-4pm there were 50 empty parking spaces plus 3 or 4 skips occupying parking spaces. Park Rd has 165 properties, only 17 DO NOT have dropped kerb access to off road parking, the other 148 have AT LEAST one dropped kerb (that's taken from the Council's "proposed CPZ map"). I think there are several more homes with off road parking, with/without dropped kerbs than shown on the Council's map. Park Rd residents very obviously wish to "keep the road for themselves". Cllr Hearne turned up for the meeting good on him - he will not be at all affected by a CPZ as his home has ample off road parking and his dropped kerb is round the corner in Lawford Rd. The new Labour Cllr. Ed Mayne lives at Park Rd, (the north end; has dropped kerb & off road parking, so will not be affected by a CPZ). Cllr Mayne "heads up", as Lead Executive Member for Community safety & enforcement, PARKING POLICY for the L.B of Hounslow. IT WAS A SHAME HE DIDN'T COME TO MEETING - he could have explained the Budget shortfall (£1million) and how they are going to reduce it by 50% - I'll give you a hint, they need to improve the income from Penalty Charge Notices and I think, permits! I am sorry I could not attend the meeting last night. |
