On the question of whether the usage of Rivercourt Road is by 'out of borough commuters'. I was travelling back home over the weekend from the west via the A4. Before I put my home address in the SatNav, I tried a number of destinations to see if whether Rivercourt Road would be part of the route including Shepherd's Bush Green and Askew Road. I couldn't find a single option where this was suggested. Bear in mind Chiswick High Road is closed by Chiswick Roundabout so you there would be an abnormally high chance that this would be given as an option. The route suggested generally was to go via NCR northbound or Chiswick Lane. This strongly suggests to me that H&F Council is seriously underestimating the amount of Hammersmith bound traffic using Rivercourt Road if they think it is just 20% Being purely parochial about this, that may mean the extra on Chiswick High Road and Chiswick Lane is less than we might have feared. However, it does given H&F a significant problem in that they have made a road two way which isn't wide enough for two cars. Now that people will be able to enter Rivercourt Road from King Street, it will become the drop off point for Latymer School and maybe WLFS with parents making u-turns to get out again. |
