"It will be interesting to see how Hounslow responds to this" My prediction, for what it is worth, is that Hounslow won't respond to it at all. You have the typical reaction when there are proposals to close or restrict traffic - there will be major knock-on impacts. In this case, the volume of traffic using Rivercourt is way too much for a narrow residential street but isn't significant for the main road network. I seem to remember when this came up last year after LBHF made C9 permanent, Francis Rowe claimed closing the street would result in a large increase of casualties at Chiswick Lane because of the displaced traffic and cyclists ignoring lights, but Francis's predictions are always good for a laugh. |
