| Michael "Anyway, so what if these vehicles turn into SCR, or Duke Ave or Chiswick Lane or even continue on to the gyratory? This volume of traffic really isn't significant compared to the existing traffic using these junctions." I have quoted Michael's exact words to avoid any question of misconstruing them. The issue is mostly one of what is the effect on Chiswick Lane, SCR or Dukes Avenue of adding potentially an extra 200-300 cars to their traffic during morning or evening rush hours. And of course Michael is ignoring the many calls on this forum to close the Dukes Avenue exit on to the A4. We know that Chiswick Lane already frequently backs up almost to CHR (and at times onto CHR) so adding even a few more cars there will be an issue. SCR is not as bad, except on Fridays from 4pm onwards when it frequently backs upto the Town Hall (and sometimes beyond). Then there is the issue of both the Chiswick Lane junction with cars coming off the flyover and the SCR/A4 junction are notoriously dangerous, so again putting more vehicles down those roads does seem at least potentially problematic. |
