| As far as I can see what TfL is funding is the upgrade to the original design permanent infrastructure. It doesn't specify in the H&F report where funding is coming from to investigate two-way operation on Weltje/Rivercourt but does say this is dependent on consultation with partners which points to the council doing its own investigation to be presented to TfL. They may be keen because, as you say, collisions are occurring near here regularly as vehicles slow to turn left at Rivercourt. That also rules out leaving it open but with access restrictions because driver would stop unexpectedly on the A4 to read signs. It seems to me the most likely scenario is that H&F are going to see if the junction improvements end the spate of serious injuries and, if not, use access restrictions and two way operation as a fallback. |
