| No Michael. I am saying the need to protect cyclists is paramount and that may be achieved by improving junction treatments at the problematic roads. Furthermore, the risk to cyclists at signalised junctions is only reduced if they obey those signals and therefore there is no good reason to assume that transferring the point at which traffic crosses to get to the A4 to Chiswick Lane and Dukes Avenue will reduce will reduce injuries. I'd be the first to admit my record of predictions is patchy but one that I made that was sadly spot on was that the bi-directional design of the cycleway would increase the number of serious collisions involving cyclists. You dismissed those concerns at the time, when I was not the only one to raise them, so perhaps you should pause to consider concerns that are being raised now. |
