| Funny, I don't recall the oil industry being nationalised ? Nor the railways or the telephone network or the steel mills being created by evolution ? Government should have responsibility for regulating health and safety while private enterprise gets on with the job of generating wealth. When the regulator is also the employer there is a conflict of interest and the temptation to cover-up its failings. Many employers appreciated that a happy and healthy workforce was likely to be a productive workforce. There were a few rotten apples but there were also many more good employers. |
