| Fraser, Thank you for this vert sad story as it brings home the terrible realities of the Bush-Blair-Brown War to all of us. It is bad enough that Blair and Brown have sent our service men and women into an illegal and hopeless war. However what makes it even worse is that, having done so, Blair and Brown have failed to provide them with adequate funding, logistics, equipment, air support, helicopters, vechicles and ammunition.Consequently about 150 British service personnel have now died in Iraq and 50 have died in Afghanistan. Thousands more have been wounded. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have died, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have been wounded and over 2 million Iraqis are now refugees. When British service personnel come home wounded, they are not treated in specialist military hospitals like American service personnel but have to fend for themselves in NHS hospitals and are then abandoned. This country has a terrible record of looking after former service personnel - relying on charities like the Royalm British Legion - rather than having a proper state funded government department like the US Veterans Administration. The situation is a criminal disgrace and our local MP, Ann Keen, is totally implicated as she has always voted for the war and is Gordon Brown's PPS. |
