| A prominent retired civil servant recently likened Gordon Brown's style to Stalinism. The election of Gordon Brown as Labour Party Leader is indeed reminiscent of Stalinism. It is absolutely incredible that a party in power in this country has elected a leader without having a contested election and thereby been able to appoint the next Prime Minister without an election. So much for democracy in the Labour Party ! Quite frankly, I am quite pleased that Gordon Brown has become leader of the Labour Party as he is a failed politicaina, who like a previous Labour Leader, Michael Foot, has passed his sell-by date long before being elected leader. His list of blunders, mistakes and inadequacies are well known and accepted by all - apart from Old Labour diehards like our own MP, Ann Keen, who, like him, will go down with Labour's swiftly sinking ship. Gordon Brown holds no democratic mandate to govern the United Kingdom. Therefore he needs to hold a Gerneral Election as soon as Tony Blair resigns on 27th June 2007. |
