| "There is the well documented cases of the use of unarmoured or lightly armoured Land Rovers being used by British forces because nothing more suitable was provided. Many British tropps have died or been wounded because of this." Many? Where does this unsubstantiated claim come from? "There were the Royal Military Police officers who were killed becaue they were not adequately armed and had inadequate supplies of ammunition." The shortage of ammunition was due to a breakdown in the military command chain - instructions to carry at least 150 rounds had not reached the police platoon and they had only 50. The blame lies within the military for this mistake. There is a genuine debate to be had on the level of resources required for the British military. You seem to be more interested in scoring ill-informed party political points. |
