| Ok Mark is innocent and this is not a banana republic and we don't live in a repressive society. How many People does it take to make an illegal gathering? Do we in our democracy have a right to march on parliament? Do we still have the right to question our politicians and expect a reply? How many levels of police and enforcement do we now have.(All public service employees are expected to report anything suspicious, all council housing has wardens to spy on the residence of the block or estate and report anything they see or suspect). Are our follow countrymen and women encouraged to report any crime no matter how small to the authorities (just like East Germany and the USSR was, Cuba still is). We as a nation are drifting toward the current Chinese version of democracy. They are now considered an OK society. I believe the man who lay in front of the tank is still in Prison, or are they all in the interest of free trade called factories now. Give it twenty more years you will be lucky to spot the difference what with the rate of new offences being written into law over the last 20 years. Does any one remember how our TV and press coverage over the Wapping dispute deliberately misled the public over who attacked who first? They even reversed the order of the filmed events on the BBC evening news to create the impression that the police were attacked first, something which was latter proven to be untrue. The Police launched the first attack when they rode their Horses at a gallop into the crowd of demonstrators Still think you live in the kind of democracy previous generation believed they were building, well we are not! |
