| Only just read this thread and there is only one thing that confuses me. How come so many Conservative MPs believed the spin over WMD when so few Labour MPs apparently did not believe their leaders? Are Tories inherently thick I wonder? The sceptic observer in me noticing how often parties like to embarrass each other by voting in ways calculated to embarrass their opposition, can't help but wonder if this political manipulation came into play on the war vote. If more Conservative MPs voted for the war than Labour MPs did then it was the Tory party that voted us in to the war and the labour party (not just its leaders) that got the blame. It’s, a nice political manoeuvre and in the best party political tradition, just a thought. Oh and Antony you might try clarifying who of the many people on this thread you are referring to in your post, it could be anyone but me. |
