| When I said a lot of Conservatives were against the War, I meant British Conservatives as a whole and not just MP's. Unfortunately a large number of Conservative MP's were fooled into voting for the War because they believed the Blair Lies about Weapons of Mass Destruction and as a matter of solidarity with Britain's closest ally- the USA. However many senior Conservatives with serious foreign policy and governmental experience such as Douglas Hurd, Malcolm Rifkind and Kenneth Clarke were against the War as were many grassroots Conservatives. Many American Conservatives are also against the war. |
