| Tom, Thank you for stating the facts and corecting Phillip Walsh's wild allegations about Euan Blair and Mark Thatcher. I met Euan Blair a few years ago when he was still in school and socialising with my daughter's friends here in Chiswick.He struck me as being a nice and polite young man trying as hard as he could to live the normal life of a London teenager even though his home address was No 11 Downing Street and his parents were away at the weekend in Chequers. We were quite surprised that he was not guarded by detectives even though he must have been in some danger of being attacked or abducted by terrorists. I rememember feeling quite sorry for him at the time. He has done rather well since, graduating from Bristol and winning a scholarship to study at an Ivy League university in the USA. Mark Thatcher was indeed convicted of hiring a helicopter.However he claims he was unaware that the helicopter he hired was to be used in an attempt to overthgrown the corrupt dictator of Equitorial Guninea.He pleaded guilty in order to get out of an African jail which is something many people would do under the circumstances. As a result he now has a criminal conviction and is unable to visit his children in the USA. |
