| Nobody has accused Gordon Brown as being as bad as Stalin.Stalin was responsible for the deaths of tens of millions while so far the Bush-Cheney-Blair-Brown War Machine has only been responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands. A very senior civil servant who has worked closely with Gordon Brown has however indeed likened the way Gordon Brown operates to Stalinism. That is a very serious allegation indeed.Unfortunately there is plenty of objective evidence to back it up. Gordon Brown is arrogant, a bad listener and dictatorial. He has dominated UK domestic policy for the past 10 years from the Treasury in a single handed and dictatorial manner, introducing over 80 tax rises and allowing public expenditure to get completely out of control. He has presided over a huge increase in the unproductive public sector and imposed huge burdens on the productive, wealth producing sectors of the economy. The success of the British economy has been in spite of Gordon Brown and not because of him. He sold a large part of the nation's gold reserves at a time when the gold price was low and he has destroyed the private sector pensions of millions of hard working British people. He has taxed the poor while at the same time making them more and more dependent on an ever more complicated benefits system. He has presided over massive house price inflation while doing nothing tangible to encourage the volume of home- building that this country, particularly our young people and immigrants, deperately need. He has consistently rejected the advice of his senior civil servants in The Treasury and expert economists. He has introduced university tuition fees in England, Wales and Northern Ireland even though the Labour Election Manifesto said a Labour Government would not do so.He has at the same time allowed the devolved Government of his native Scotland to not introduce university tuition fees and increased England's subsidies to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. He has been a senior member of a British Government which has given forms of devolved Government to Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and to London but not to England as a whole. As a result we no longer have a United Kingdom - we have a loose federation of unequal parts where the biggest part- England- is treated unfairly compared to the rest. He has failed to acknowledge let alone attempt to answer the West Lothian question - probably because he is himself part of the Fifeshire Problem. Why whould an MP for a Fifeshire constituency, like Gordon Brown, be able to vote in the House of Commons on matters such as health and education in England, when he is not able to vote on such matter that affect his own Scottosh constituency because in Scotland matters such as education and health are the responsibility of the independent Scottish Executive ? He has introduced a disasterously innefficent, bureucratic, unfair, unworkable and fraud-infested system of tax, benefits and credits which has kept millions in cruel and hopeless state-dependency and poverty traps while at the same time giving unproductive and unfullfilling employment to tens of thousands of civil servants who would be much better off working in useful jobs. He has starved the armed forces of equipment and resources while at the same time voting to send them into the illegal and disasterous invasion and occupation of Iraq. He has been a key member of the Bush-Cheney-Blair-Brown War Machine. Now without being elected by anyone other than his constituents in Scotland and with the heavily coerced and whipped nominations of a majority of Labour MP's, this deeply flawed and sinister man is about to become Prime Minister of this country. That is deeply worrying. There have been very serious allegations that many Labour MP's were put under heavy pressure and intimidated into signing Gordon Brown's nomination papers. This again is reminiscent of Stalinism. What should worry us most is that Gordon Brown is a Socialist. Unfortunately many people in this country are to old to remember what a disasterous and discredited ideology Gordon Brown's Socialism is. After 14 years of so-called New Labour, Labour is now dropping the "new" and embracing the "Old". And Gordon Brown's Private Parliamentary Secretary, our own Covent Garden residing MP Ann Keen, is amongst the chief cheerleaders of this old Socialism that has once again come to haunt this now Disunited Kingdom. Let's have a General Election soon so we can get rid of Gordon Brown, Ann Keen and the whole corrupt, bizarre, inefficent, misguided and dysfunctional Labour Government. |
