| Don't feel too worried about Claire. It is sad that so many Xmas trees are lying forsaken and abandoned but everyone will understand that these poor young trees were planted and reared specifically for culling; to be decorated, applauded, cherished and admired. Everyone will understand that not all the culled Xmas trees will reach that status and enjoy the admiration they deserve. That is indeed sad. However, the murdered tree Claire mentions, is a different case altogether. This majestic old fella was murdered purely to appease half a dozen cyclists to build a TEMPORARY cycle track. Most decent cyclists, like myself, wouldn't have minded cycling around the tree while the temporary cycle track is in use for a few months. Hence, as shown in this thread, all decent people agree with Caire's sentiments. |
