| How nice to learn that cyclists riding without lights or/and on the pavement can be stopped and fined. I suggest that someone capable of doing this be placed on the pavement alongside the roadworks between Chiswick Computers and the first available bus stop going westwards. Two were closed, so I had to walk a long(for me) way at 4.15 last Friday, in the dark, and mostly on narrow pavements. Sensible cyclists would dismount and walk their bikes in such circumstances, but I saw only one do this. Others preferred to brush against me or come riding right up to me, several with no lights. My cries of 'You Fool' did not deter them, but I eventually made it to a working bus stop. Once on the bus, I noted many users of the cycleway riding in total darkness. Are these people mad? suicidal? immortal? Answers from the Three Wise Men would be welcome. |
