| “I personally have no interest at all, in what other people may or may not claim about cyclist numbers. I only know that cycling will never ever again become a dominant mode of transport.” I can understand why some people choose to ignore any evidence that challenges their personal beliefs, but that’s usually the attitude of a religious fundamentalist, not an ex-scientist.And you are literally an ex-scientist if you are no longer willing to change your views in the light of the evidence! Bikes are already the dominant mode of road transport in the City, and that’s now also true along the Embankment to Westminster and over Blackfriars Bridge and spreading north along the roads into Camden and Hackney. In some hourly counts on the High Road there are already a comparable number of bikes and cars. You can of course choose to cling to your beliefs, but the rest of London is moving on. |
