| Ed, Ed, Ed, Ed, Ed. Please provide an example where a PCN is issued when advice is contravened. You're the one wanting to issue PCNs. Something I agree with. But to get one, one must contravene the law. Feels like you're grasping at straws. You mentioned hi-vis and lights. You want to dictate what cyclists should wear. I say amen to that. After all, motorists can't drive at night without their lights on now, can they? Some idiots do, but that is in direct violation of the law. When last we checked, wearing hi-vis clothing doesn't discourage cycling. It promotes safety, but it doesn't discourage people. So that's a bit thin, to say the least. Again, you brought up fines. Odd you don't want to own that now. Ooops. As we have seen with e-bikes and e-scooters, GPS tracking can and does work as does adding registration numbers to the vehicles. Again, your claim is thin. And lazy. Only a matter of time before parity across all users will be in place. So what we're left with is someone who can't afford a bike but can rent one is tagged by GPS and accountable for using vehicle number XYZ, but you, with millions of new pounds lining your pockets are somehow unable to pay for necessary GPS and reg numbers lest you be discouraged from cycling? Do I have that right? |
