| Makes you wonder if perhaps we should stop burning stuff for energy....wood in stoves, coal in power plants, petrol and diesel in cars and trucks.... I saw the Danish report and the x750 claim - I wondered if that was under particular conditions. The usual claim is that wood burning stoves emit 6-8 times as much PM2.5 as a truck - that may be out of date or perhaps reflect the majority of trucks on the road / real world conditions. Either way, it is daft to be polluting so much and to do it unnecessarily - I doubt there's many / any houses in Chiswick with a wood burning stove that don't have central heating or alternatives. A ban is likely coming - and it will most upset the middle classes (us!) who love a fire for its aesthetic and homely qualities. |
