| Let's do an eensy weensy fact check, shall we Tom? The removal of the roadway predates us. What allowed us to spread out across said pavement was the COVID-related licensing fee structure. Using the pavement as we do now would be cost-prohibitive with LBH's punitive licensing fees. As I've said before, aimed at folks like you, if you're so steadfast at promoting and perpetuating outdoor dining, you better get your sh*t together and lobby Hounslow for continued license fee reductions. They have a proven track record of ignoring local traders. Without reduced license fees, all of us will be sunk. But you never seem to connect the dots on this kinda stuff. For a doctor, I've always found that odd. In broad strokes, we paid £100 initially last year. LBH increased it this year because it could (anyone surprised?) but come next September when the current regulations expire, there's no telling. In 2019, we would have paid £3000 for the same amount of space. I thought maybe you'd like some facts to mull over. If you need any comparison to other boroughs let me know. LBH is the outlier. Devonshire Road was and remains the result of COVID regulations. Pity you forgot that. Given the 73% wanting improvements for pedestrians and cyclists, I do so wonder why you are never part of that cohort interested in pedestrian improvements. |
