| Edward Seaton suggested " I suggest a sensible upright bike with integrated lights, mudguards, suspension and luggage rack." And when the "integrated lights" go wrong ? I was forgetting yet another BENEFIT of cycling, as was. In addition to Meccano, learning to fix just about anything on their bikes gave youngsters, mainly boys a good practical grounding in mechanical principles and DIY. In addition ISTR reading that any suspension reduces the mechnical efficiency of the bike as some of the riders energy is being absorbed by the suspension. For me it's still a 50 yr old lightweight steel frame and 23cm tyres I'm afraid. It's CHARACTER BUILDING as well, you see. michael adams ... |
