Yes indeed, it is disgareceful that so many drivers still leave their cars idling. "Is it illegal to leave your car running in your drive? The rules over stationary idling apply to public roads only, so you aren’t breaking the law if you idle in your drive, or in a supermarket car park, for example." One of our neighbours consistently leaves their diesel Range Rover idling in the drive with nobody in it. When I questioned them they said they only do it when its cold weather because they want to warm up the car before they bring their toddlers out of the house!! I tried to explain the environmental impact but they weren't interested! With people like these there is no hope for the planet. |
