| The difficulty with providing step-free access to the Tube stations in Chiswick is the layout and construction of the stations. With island platforms on top of an embankment at Turnham Green, to install lifts would mean drilling two lift shafts within the middle of the embankment structure, which would be quite an engineering challenge. Chiswick Park might be easier as the lifts could be built on the outside of the embankment, but I would guess it has rather less footfall than Turnham Green. |
