| It is indeed quite depressing and long predicted. What I particularly dislike is when I try to cross the road there, cyclists whizzing down there the wrong way - accessing the High Road in blatant contravention of the one way system. When I challenged one cyclist, a repeat offender whom I recognised, he laughed, and said- "I will get you next time" and he probably will. It's particularly nasty late at night - cycle couriers chattering on their phones going down the wrong way. They know that nobody will stop them and eventually people will get hurt. It is indeed a mixture of high rents, a no go area for both drivers and pedestrians and the negative effects of being a battleground in Hounslow Cycling's endless fight for control. if only the powers that be had really listened to local traders and residents instead, it could have been so different. Sad. |
