| “Many businesses in the area insist that convenient parking is vital for their businesses” and then proceed to dump their SUVs all day in the spaces on the street. What I have done on this thread is challenge the prevailing orthodoxy that traders are somehow sacred and their views cannot be challenged. The reality is that they are culpable for the mess of Devonshire Road and ignored all advice and warnings about the negative consequences for their businesses if they missed the golden opportunity to improve the street. That I am right is proven more every time an opponent of car reduction schemes gets personal in their responses to me because they do not have any evidence-based arguments. The more elaborate the personal attack the more vacuous the opponent. |
