Inflated statement; "Jeremy, you have overlooked that I was citing direct evidence from local retailers. There was no sign of a reduction in footfall, turnover or covers when parking spaces were removed, either on TGT or the Old Market Place." As it happens I have just come up TGT and apart form loading and disabled bays the are only 19 parking spaces in TGT. It is therefore not at all surprising that the loss of such a small number had no impact on the unknown two traders. Still, this didn't stop this being used as "proof" that convenient parking was not important to traders turnover. As it happens, as far as TGT is concerned I think this is probably true, it makes little difference bearing in mind the huge 'doorstep' customer base. What I am tired of is people conflating clearly flawed "evidence" into something that it isn't just to fit an agenda. |
