| Putting aside the question of why the council commissioned this survey and what results they were hoping it would show, let's assume it was accurate, it doesn't prove your contention. I doubt businesses were polled on how many people coming to the High Road came by car but how many of their customers did which could well be a different number and would vary widely between different types of businesses. Assuming that the proportion of customers will be the same as the proportion of visitors on the High Road at a particular time is transparently erroneous. It may surprise you to know that businesses, including smaller independent traders, do conduct surveys, either formally or informally about how their customers reach them. Your assumption that they have reached false conclusions seems to be based only on a belief that they aren't very bright. |
