| I'm assuming that there's a typo in the OP and Whistling Oyster should have been labelled a "blight spot". I have lived nearby for 35 years and now rarely get a decent night's sleep. The shops that used to open for usual business hours would mean than in a largely residential area, it was quiet in the evenings. Now every food shop, whether it sells fish or coffee is open until late, often with an alcohol licence. Customers make no effort to consider residents, slamming car doors and raising their voices, and Ingress Street is barely passable on the north side because of the huge waste bins plus the waste that is fly tipped. The detritus left by Whistling Oyster, including that dumped in the gutter, has made it particularly noisome, not to mention the noise pollution caused by thumping muzak. Devonshire Road is cluttered with tables that make it extremely difficult to pass and which have forced me into the oncoming traffic several occasions. Diners leave the pavement strewn with litter, especially disposable cutlery and napkins from Whistling Oyster. |
