“ you appear wilfully to ignore two other elements of his post, namely: 1) Pre-Covid Domestic transport emitted 118 million tonnes in 2019 versus 24m tonnes for Aviation in the same period i.e. x5; and 2) Tom also specifically opined that Heathrow's 3rd runway should be cancelled officially.” Not really because pre Covid is not really relevant to what is happening today where it is generally accepted that since Covid restrictions were lifted, EV sales have soared as people replaced diesel and petrol vehicles with electric vehicles. On point (2) Tom was merely stating the obvious and most sensible people in west London would totally agree with him. I certainly do so I didn’t feel it necessary to comment. But to be clear - yes I agree 100% with Tom regarding Heathrow extension. Of course there will be thousands who want the runway to go ahead because they hope to gain employment and business opportunities. Certainly Hounslow Council wants the runway to go ahead because they want to support their key voters whose livelihoods depend on a flourishing Heathrow. |
