Rather the point is that it constitutes one fifth of that of motor transport. Meaning that even if you banned aviation entirely, it still wouldn't solve the emissions problem without action on other major causes of emissions. Which quite obviously include motor transport. But if the world is to get a grip on this, you cannot permit an exemption for every selfish 4 x 4 driver who demands to drive wherever he likes, whenever he likes Meanwhile, it WILL make a difference to air pollution in the areas whose roads have been closed. But then you probably know that. |
