| It seems that the CO2 emissions of a long haul flight and a medium sized car per passenger per km are about the same at around 160g. Short haul and domestic flights emit proportionately more, while a car carrying more than one person is proportionately less. Train travel is the least polluting (after walking and cycling), particularly over long distances and if powered by renewable electricity, with Eurostar rated at 6g per passenger km.
