| “Transport became the largest emitting sector in 2016. This follows large decreases in energy emissions as the UK switched away from coal power and towards gas, while transport emissions have remained relatively static.” That’s from the government’s latest report on emissions which came out earlier this year. There was a 19% drop in transport emissions in 2020 after 30 years of very little change, but that one-off reduction from COVID has to be both first locked in and then we need a further drop of 10% to reach our 2030 target. The evidence is building that LTNs are delivering consistently on that target. In contrast you are offering evidence-free claims at best combined with assertions that are simply not true. |
