As I said, the error doesn't affect the overall conclusion that congestion has increased. Can we now say that this is an accepted fact that delays are up on Chiswick High Road? You are quite right that this does need to be put in context and average roads speeds are down on GLA A Roads over the same period from 14.2mph in 2019 to 13.6mph. Looking at the central section of Chiswick High Road on the ArcGis maps the average speed has fallen from 8.6mph in 2019 to 6mph in 2023 which is a much bigger percentage fall. This suggests the increase in delays on Chiswick High Road is much greater than that seen across London. |
