There does seem to have been a change in emphasis in policy from TfL over the last year or so. They are making more of a deal of the 25 - 25 strategy (a commitment to a net 25km more bus lanes by March of this year). Part of the way this is being achieved is amending plans that previously envisaged removal of bus lanes such as the one on Uxbridge Road between Ealing and Southall. The earlier plan made in 2021 was scrapped in favour of a new one released earlier this year which kept the bus lanes. Plans already funded which required the removal of bus lanes such as Cycleway 9 have gone ahead but, as far as I am aware, there are no plans in the consultation stage which require bus lanes to be removed which confirms a shift in policy at TfL. |
