Paul, you can get all Trump-like and shout fake news when presented with facts that don't fit your world view however, the change in emphasis seems clear to me. The abandonment of the designs on the Uxbridge Road which saw bus lanes being lost and the relook at the possibility of putting back bus lanes on Chiswick High Road (event though this has gone quiet) are just two examples. It also has to be acknowledged that London TravelWatch put a lot of time and effort into their report and it will be taken seriously by TfL. They have been criticised in the past for being too train/tube focused when it is bus users that really need a voice most. The number of people travelling up and down Chiswick High Road by bus probably outnumbers and other form of transport by a factor of 100. I'm not saying their needs should be paramount but speeding up buses has the biggest impact of any change that you can make on road transport. |
