| From the best of my recollection Tom's data was specific to Chiswick and showed a marginal increase in bus journey times on the High Road and bigger increases on Bath Road and Chiswick Lane. The figures from London Travel Watch are London-wide so both can be true. On the Mayor's bus strategy, I don't know whether there has been a reduction in outer London specifically but the bus fleet generally has not been expanding in line with demand. This is down to budgetary restraint and the need to shift vehicles to more non-polluting models which we in Chiswick have specifically benefitted from. It may however be the case that, having been made a Low Emission corridor, Chiswick High Road has been required to have fewer buses. |
