| Paul raises a reasonable point so there is no reason to be so snarky. GPS enabled signalling does operate on other rail networks. I can use my phone on the platform to see where a train is and the platform indicators also use it so if the same information can be used to squeeze and tiny bit of service improvement in a safe way that doesn't seem to be anything to be afraid of. If we are stuck with the present dysfunctional and increadingly unreliable signalling system for at least a decade it has to be worth considering if there are temporary solutions to stop service deterioration. |
