| I think it would be hard to argue for a change in the stopping pattern on weekday mornings. In my experience, most rush-hour Piccadilly line trains are packed by the time they pass through Turnham Green, so it would be difficult, and slow, to board them. It's sometimes hard enough to get on even at Hammersmith, despite many passengers getting off there, what with the arrival of early morning air travellers with luggage. However, can anyone explain why there would be huge difficulties in bringing forward the evening stopping time to, say, 8pm, as Paul proposed? Frequency is surely lower by then - it feels like it, anyway. At a pinch it could be limited to Rayner's Lane services. And it would reduce the often 15-minute waits on Acton Town station on freezing winter nights when coming from Heathrow! |
