| There is the capacity of the line in terms of trains per hour and the capacity in terms of the numbers of people carried by a train. Adding an additional stop would decrease the number of trains per hour and that decreases the overall capacity of the line. The frequency of service really matters at the big stations like Kings Cross where every train fills up from quite early in the morning. So while an individual Piccadilly line train passing through TG may have seats on it, if it stopped, that would reduce the number of trains per hour and that means big issues at somewhere like Kings Cross where there are many more passengers than TG. |
