| Don't think you have grasped my point. When trains leave the depot in the early morning eastbound they will generally encountered empty stations and few passengers. This seems to put them ahead of timetable by the time they reach Acton Town. Trains that have travelled further east into central London will start to see more passengers and dwell times become more normal therefore they proceed more slowly relative to the trains behind them. My observation is that, as a result of this, trains are often held between Turnham Green and Acton Town or roll through TG at walking pace. Therefore the net impact of extending the operation of a stop in the morning on the overall service would be minimal. It may even benefit because commuters may choose to travel earlier when the service is less busy and direct therefore reducing overcrowding at rush hour. |
