| I have looked at the timetable. I have been using this service for literally decades so I would respectfully suggest that what I have seen constitutes more than 'a few anecdotal observations'. Neither of us know what is actually happening but nobody has put you in charge to prevent people speculating what might be going on. Hopefully someone with useful knowledge can throw more light on the subject but I reserve the right to speculate based on long observation until then. As for the 'blocks' that London Underground uses there seems to me two possibilities - either the Acton Town to Hammersmith block is continuous and a driver won't be signaled of the position ahead until it reaches Hammersmith or there are two blocks split at Turnham Green ie. a driver leaving Acton Town will know the train in front has passed Turnham Green. If the latter is the case why are so many trains held outside Acton Town even though there is no train between it and Turnham Green? |
