Unfortunately arguments about religion tend to generate more heat than light. And his target was the school and its admissions system, not the parents, as he made clear in another post. Where I used to live, near Reading, the local state-funded Church of England primary school had no qualms about admitting our devoutly Muslim next door neighbours' children, a fine example of one's religion not getting in the way of receiving a good education. |
